I think there are two types of resolutions; Journey Resolutions and Destination Resolutions. Looking at my resolutions this year, I now see that I have both types. My resolution of Being A Better Father is a Journey Resolution, whereas Write Another Book is a Destination Resolution.
I’ve found that I have more success in achieving Destination Resolutions as opposed to Journey Resolutions because Destination Resolutions have a definitive endpoint. That said, I will be amending my Journey Resolution of Be A Better Father to be more specific and include Destination points.
Do you have any personal or professional resolutions that are more Journey than Destination? If you do, perhaps you should consider a re-do.
In 2019 I hope you Find Your Adventure and Live Your Life. #BMFAdventureClub #MindSetReset
PS – I am doing a cool exercise created by author Mel Robbins. It is a 35-day challenge called The Mindset Reset. Here is a link if you would like to check it out – https://melrobbins.com/mindsetreset/
PPS – I am on day 4 of my own 21-day physical fitness challenge. It is going to be a great jumpstart to 2019 because I have some big plans for the next 12-months. I will never be able to achieve some of the goals in 2019 unless I amp up my physical fitness. Here is a link that talks about my personal challenge and an idea I call Find 2 For You – https://bmfadventureclub.com/find-2-for-you-21-day-health-challenge/
PPPS – The other day on a plane I had an idea to compose emails that would be sent to my future self. I was going to use the Delay Send feature in Outlook, but then I decided to hit The Google. After a bit of research, I found some cool sites to make this happen. Basically, go to this website https://www.futureme.org/ and here you can type out an email and set a specific date that you want this email to be delivered back to you. The email I will be sending my future self is a list of my goals for 2019. Actually, I composed four emails that will be delivered back to me on March 1st, June 21st (first day of Spring), September 2nd (Labor Day, better get to work), and November 28th (Thanksgiving).
